My Date With Destiny
I'm so excited to announce that in just 12 days, I will be traveling to Florida to spend time with one of the most influential and all-time favorite people in my life...Tony Robbins!!! I'll be attending a live event called Date With Destiny, and I can't describe how excited I am. I've done this event before, but it was 16+ years ago. I was five months pregnant at the time and struggling with morning sickness. I was just in a very different place in my life. I completed almost all of Tony's Maste…
The sun will end the day whether you like it or not
I've seen many beautiful sunsets, but each time still feels like the first. It stops me dead in my tracks, forces me to look, and I can't help but feel incredibly grateful for it. I quickly took this picture and then stood in a moment of peace and reflection about my life. At that moment, I was reminded of how different my life was from even just a few years ago. The direction I thought I was going in isn't the place that I'm in now. Yet, I'm so happy it didn't.
Today, I thought of how the sun …
Letting Go
We will all face a time in our lives when we'll need to let go of something or someone when letting go is the opposite of what we want to do. When the thought of letting go is so painful that we'd rather hold on to a situation that might be equally painful so that we don't have to deal with it. Whether it's a break-up, a death, a loss of a job, a friendship, or whatever, letting go can be an extraordinary journey that can be painful and rewarding.
I recently met with a client struggling to walk…
We All Fall Down Sometimes
I read this quote posted on a friend's Facebook feed. "You're hoping I fall down. I'm praying you get on your feet. We are not the same." Author Unknown. It reminded me of a time when I was struggling through something. Some of my friends rose to the occasion; some didn't. Much to my delight, a few relationships even grew so stronger while it seemed like others were waiting for me to fail so they could say, see! When you're already struggling, the harsh judgment of others can only compound thing…
My Miami Adventures with Maureen
Last weekend, I went to Miami with some friends for a little getaway. The trip was inspired by my childhood best friend, Kelly's mom, Maureen. Maureen is a 77-year-old, elegant, graceful, raw, and hilarious woman. I love her deeply and am incredibly grateful for her mark on my life. Her wit, humor, and charm draw you in, and most are captivated by the stories of her life, which she openly shares.
Maureen has been to other parts of Florida before but has always wanted to see Miami. However, sinc…
My time inside the snow globe
GRIEF - We’ve witnessed it other people but, the understanding through personal experience - well there has never been a better teacher.
~ Bernice Donato
It all started 6 years ago with the death of my father. The thing about his death was I never, in my wildest dreams, considered loosing him would have the enormous impact it did. My father and I always had a tumultuous relationship and I naively thought my anger at the things that caused our divide, would shield me from the hurt a reasonable…
Fear vs. Terror
During 9/11, I had the great fortune of being in Hawaii with Tony Robbins for his Life Mastery event. Ironically, it was scheduled to be Emotional Day. It was 3:00 AM when the phone rang. It was my boyfriend's brother. He said "turn on the TV. There's been a terrorist attack."
I think it's safe to say fear was an issue most people were there to address even before 9/11 happened. But, I don't think anyone could have prepared for what happened that day. Fear, coupled with deep sadness, was visibl…
IMPACT
I’d like to talk to you today about IMPACT. When I think of IMPACT, I think of what happens when you experience something or someone – an alteration of sorts. It helps to shape a thought, creates a feeling and ultimately causes an outcome or a result.
I’d like to take a deeper dive specifically into the IMPACT we have on one another. From our children, to our partners, our co-workers, friends, family members and even strangers…each encounter is IMPACTFUL. Each experience h…
